Bill Holmes - Activities - Hiking and Biking - Mendocino 2010

I saw turkeys south of 128 on my way to Handy Woods where large redwood trees are found (3 October 2010).

Later I saw a young black bear run across Highway 128 as I neared Highway 1. I turned north and then east on Albeon Little River Road, which Ts into Airport Road, where I slept in the parking lot of the Pygmy Forest, where the soil is 500,000 to 1,000,000 years old.

These turkeys ignored the mower.

Slug on 2.5 mile trek in to Van Damme State Park along Little River 4 Octoper 2010. It was so dark deep in the canyon that the flash keep going off.
