Bill Holmes - Activities - Fishing - Eastern Sierras

Lone Pine to Tahoe July, 2009 (Tahoe to Big Pine)

I explored nearly all the fishable streams from Lone Pine to Lake Tahoe along the eastern Sierra Nevada mountains -- one of my favorite places. It was as much to get away from hot Lancaster for my first real vacation since 1993 as research streams for a subsequent fishing trip with a friend since 4th grade who also needs to get away, and loves stream fishing.  I maximized my time traveling and hiking by sleeping in my van at trail ends or off dirt roads,sponge-bathed naked in the open air in the middle of nowhere, and drank whey protein for breakfast, ate fruits and vegetables during the day and canned food at night when there were no fish.  In the middle of the trip I used a timeshare in Tahoe for two days as a base camp.
